World Design Capital Helsinki 2012
Helsinki is the World Design Capital in 2012 together with Espoo, Vantaa, Kauniainen and Lahti. The objective of the World Design Capital year is to improve the daily lives and environment of the residents and to develop public services and business activities through design. The World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 year comprises about 250 independent projects, open public events, and encounters of design professionals from all over the world. The World Design Capital is selected every other year. The World Design Capital is an initiative of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid).
Bookies is part of the official WDC Helsinki 2012 and Helsinki Photography Biennial 2012 programs and organized together with Kiasma Finnish Museum of Contemporary Art, Myymälä2 Gallery and Napa Books & Gallery.
Bookies is supported by the The Arts Council of Finland, Estonian Institute, FRAME Finnish Fund For Art Exchange, Goethe-Institut, The National Council for Photographic Art of Finland and the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia.
