Gallery A.S. is a site-specific curatorial project founded by Joseph Allen Shea in Sydney, Australia in 2011. Its vision is to create marriage and/or discord between architecture and contemporary art. Gallery A.S.'s thoughtful, immersive, and energetic exhibitions bring a new interest and vigour to Sydney’s art and cultural domain. Among others projects Gallery A.S. has exhibited Californian artist Thomas Campbell's sculptures in a small warehouse, Daniel Askill's large scale video works in a functioning church, curated an exhibition about the moving image in the former offices for Paramount Pictures, spliced food and video installation with artist Dr Lisa Cooper and acclaimed chef Jared Ingersoll, and created an immersive installation over four stories of an abandoned sex shop for Australian painter Anthony Lister.
